THE BEMA SEAT AND THE WHITE THRONE

I found this from the article I read the other day (copy-paste):

The concept of the Bema Seat comes from the ancient Olympics, where a judge would sit on the Bema Seat at the finish line. The judge's purpose was to determine what position the runners came in-first, second, and so on and then to give out the appropriate rewards. That is the imagery behind what is known as the Bema Seat.

On that basis, the apostle Paul wrote concerning the above in connection to salvation that he preaches to the gentiles; he wrote in 1 Corinthians 9:24-27:

24Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? Run in such a way as to take the prize. 25Everyone who competes in the games trains with strict discipline. They do it for a crown that is perishable, but we do it for a crown that is imperishable. 26Therefore I do not run aimlessly; I do not fight like I am beating the air. 27No, I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified.…

BUT HOW DOES THAT DIFFER FROM the White Throne Judgment, let's widen the scope by digging up the scripture on that. After the Millennial reign of Christ written in Revelation 20, we find the White throne judgment (see Rev.20:11-12), or the second resurrection. Going through the said passage further down to verse 14, we read: “Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire [Hell]. The lake of fire is the SECOND DEATH.” (meaning all that were risen were subject to that judgment) Now, why did I refer to the foregoing as the second resurrection? This is because there is the first resurrection that supposedly occurred earlier; let’s check that out some more in scripture. If you back up a bit in your reading to verse 5 of Rev. 20, we find: 5 (The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended.) This is the first resurrection. It is telling us about the occurrence of resurrection. Now how do we know for sure if this is not the same resurrection mentioned in verses 11-20 above? The answer to that question is in the NEXT verse (6) that says “…The SECOND DEATH has no power over them, (meaning they are exempted or have no part in that judgment) but they will be priests of God and Christ and will reign with him for a thousand years." [referring to the millennial reign of Christ].

Since there is a prior resurrection to the White Throne Judgement, we must know when that would be because it alludes to those who are saved from hell (second death), which is supposedly for the believers in Christ… who else but us. Now as we already know there is the rapture (Harpazo) that we are all waiting to come soon, to occur before the Great Tribulation. Let’s go to that verse written by the apostle Paul in 1Cor.15: 51-52:

Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— 52 in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, THE DEAD WILL BE RAISED imperishable, and we will be changed…

Well there we have it my brethren; in the first resurrection is also the Rapture. (trumpet sound) Considering this for believers only, then it must very well be what is known as the JUDGMENT SEAT OF CHRIST, accordingly, the next event after RAPTURE is the Great Wedding Banquet, which is why there were the Raptured Saints described in Rev. 6:9-11. And what does it say the saints were wearing? Well, it did say white robes, in verse 9. This comes to mind Jesus’ parable about the wedding banquet in Matt. 22. Let’s go to that portion concerning somebody not dressed for the occasion, Jesus tells us in verses 13-14,

“Then the king told the attendants, ‘Tie him hand and foot, and throw him outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ 14 “For many are invited, but few are chosen.”

Hence when the time comes, brethren, be sure that all are wearing the proper wedding attire that none may be left behind. Revelation 19:7-8 tells us:

“…Hallelujah! For our, Lord God Almighty reigns. 7 Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. 8 Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear.”(Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of God’s holy people.)

Note that THE WORDS enclosed in PARENTHESIS ABOVE are still part of the scripture.
